Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (S.E.N.D)

Huntington School recognises that many students will have special needs at some time during their school life. In implementing this policy, we believe students will be helped to overcome their difficulties.  Whilst many factors contribute to the range of difficulties experienced by some children, we believe that much can be done to overcome them by parents, teachers and students working together.

At Huntington School we are committed to narrowing the gap between S.E.N.D and non-S.E.N.D pupils.  We do this through a variety of different support systems.

All of our teachers and teaching assistants are trained to adapt their practice to meet the needs of young people with a range of special education needs.  We hope you enjoy reading about the provision Huntington School offers to young people with Special Education Needs or Disabilities, we do wholeheartedly believe in the limitless potential of all people.

If you’d like to contact Huntington school about S.E.N.D you can do so by speaking to Mr Warren Lowe, Assistant Headteacher who is also the school’s Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo).  He can be contacted on the school telephone number: 01904 752100 or email: w.lowe@huntington-ed.org.uk
